Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 April 2026

Overview

EasyApply Assistant ("the Extension") is a browser extension that assists users with filling job application forms. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it is used, and where it is stored.

Data We Collect

The Extension does not collect, transmit, or store any data on external servers. All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local).

Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored on your device only:

  • Profile information — Name, email, phone number, current company, and location. This is imported from your LinkedIn profile at your request.
  • Stored answers — Your answers to job application questions, used to pre-fill future applications.
  • Job history — A record of jobs you've applied to or skipped, including job titles and company names.
  • Configuration — Your settings preferences (salary filters, title blocklist, delays, etc.).

Third-Party Services

The Extension optionally connects to one third-party service:

  • Anthropic Claude API — If you provide a Claude API key in Settings, the Extension sends question text to the Claude API to generate answer suggestions. Only the question label and job context (title, company, location) are sent. Your personal information, stored answers, and job history are never transmitted. This feature is entirely optional and the Extension works without it.

Data Shared With Third Parties

None. We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third party. There are no analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry of any kind.

LinkedIn and Indeed

The Extension interacts with LinkedIn and Indeed web pages in your browser to detect form fields and fill in answers. It does not access your LinkedIn or Indeed account credentials. It operates by reading the visible page content, the same way you would manually.

Data Retention

All data is stored in your browser's local storage for as long as the Extension is installed. Uninstalling the Extension removes all stored data. You can also manually clear data at any time through the Extension's settings.

Security

Your Claude API key (if provided) is stored in chrome.storage.local and is only accessible to the Extension. It is never exposed to web pages or transmitted to any server other than the Anthropic API endpoint.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
